Philanthropy has the power to transform lives at multiple levels, often beginning with a single act of generosity that ripples out to affect entire communities. A shining example of this is Marcus Rashford’s leadership in the Child Food Poverty Taskforce, to date has enabled the donation of over 21m meals to children and families since 2020.
Marcus’s single act marked the start of a new wave of socially conscious giving. Place-based giving has gained momentum in the UK, focusing philanthropic efforts on addressing the specific needs of our local communities, and fostering collaboration between local donors, businesses, and charities.
It is reported that women now control 32 per cent of the world’s wealth, and as the largest beneficiaries of intergenerational wealth transfers, they are poised to become increasingly significant philanthropists.
