Two-Thirds of Manufacturers Optimistic for 2025 Despite Borrowing Costs & Trade Barriers Stifling Growth

National audit, tax, advisory, and consulting firm Crowe UK, in partnership with the Confederation of British Metalforming (CBM), has published its Winter Manufacturing Outlook Report. The report reveals that two-thirds of Manufacturers are optimistic about 2025; however, accessing government support and global trade barriers remain persistent challenges to growth.
It seems that British-based manufacturers are increasingly seeking domestic growth over international markets. The survey shows a significant jump from 61% to 78% over the last 12 months (and doubled since 2019 from 36%), stating that they face more competition from other UK-based businesses than those located internationally.
