ARBROATH Smokies are protected by the European Commission – and after tasting this delicious delicacy in the town itself, I fully endorse the EU’s actions even though Brexit means we are now no longer part of the commission’s decision-making processes.
Of course, Brexit and Covid-19 turned the world on its head. The former is a fait accompli, while the latter is thankfully becoming a distant memory.
It was after the pandemic had abated that the Kilt & Tartan restaurant opened in the majestic surroundings of the manor house on the Seaton Estate in Arbroath.
And that’s where my partner and I were introduced – for the first time – to the famous Arbroath Smokies prepared by the restaurant’s head chef Stuart Forsyth.
I can tell you it won’t be the last time, either!
