Shift of wealth from California is gathering pace
THE most famous house in Washington DC is almost certainly the White House.
But buying your own house in the area is becoming more and more popular as investors switch from the West Coast towards the Washington DC area.
So, the political powerhouse is rapidly turning into a real estate powerhouse, according to Stephanie Pudish, an international real estate advisor at TTR Sotheby’s International Realty.
In addition to the White House, Washington DC is also home to the Capitol Building, countless embassies, and it’s where presidents, generals and international diplomats choose to live.
“We are finding that many clients are saying goodbye to their California mega-mansions and moving to the DMV (named after the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) where tax rates are more forgiving,” says Ms Pudish, in an exclusive interview with The Business Influencer.
