FROM a soggy start at Luton Airport, our Tenerife trip blossomed into exactly the kind of super sunshine getaway my wife and I had been hoping for.
That prelude to the holiday was certainly a dampener with us having to walk carrying our luggage from the mid-term car park in dark and damp conditions for an early-morning easyJet flight; a problem caused by the massive fire which ravaged one of the airport’s car parks last October destroying 1,400 cars. The car park is still being rebuilt and, hopefully, will be back in action soon.
That aside, once we had boarded our plane, the journey was as smooth as silk with an attentive cabin crew easing us there in about four hours.
Once on the ground at Tenerife South airport, we were quickly through and out into the fresh morning air, where an extremely pleasant easyJet driver whisked us to our five-star hotel, the Iberostar Selection Sabila in the picture postcard pretty enclave of Costa Adeje.
