The U.S. is undoubtedly the center of high impact innovation particularly in software, AI, biotech, semiconductors, aerospace and finance. The environment is ripe for risk taking, start up ‘culture’, and venture capital that are all key for a some idea to actually become a business pretty readily.
There is a positive feedback loop for innovative businesses to start from nothing in the U.S, and there are 4 pillars of why this is.
1) - The capital markets provide venture and private equity funding, and while it has its valid criticisms, it creates a system that rewards risk taking and can tolerate failures, making that risk worthwhile. Many argue that other economic systems would be better, as they type angrily on Facebook from their iPhone, on the couch ordered from Amazon, not realizing the irony of that situation and how all these companies were only able to start and exist from our economic system
