Rise Above Jet Lag With My Top Tips For High-Flyers
If you globe-trot, your body-clock may “lag” behind the time zone where you arrive. To arrive in great shape, ready for meetings, I’d advise:
* BEFORE flying, choose a night-time flight so you get some rest. Arrive in daylight, stimulating wakefulness, then sleep next day.
* Pre-boarding, eat a meal. On board, ask for a “low-residue menu”, a phrase all airlines recognise. This food is more easily digested.
* DURING the flight, wear light-compression stockings to reduce fluid retention. They improve fluid balance and reduce dehydration. Your feet won’t swell, so you’ll disembark without feeling stiff.
* Avoid alcohol. It’ll dehydrate you, depress your immune and central-nervous systems, decreasing performance on arrival.
